Connect Muse

Add UniFeeds as a custom connector in Muse with the client ID muse, then sign in.

Before you start

  • Meta's Muse on muse.ai, iOS, or Android. Muse is only in the US and Canada for now.
  • Meta doesn't review custom connectors. Any workspace member can connect Muse to read; only admins can let it make changes.
  • At least one social account connected on the Connections page in UniFeeds, so the AI has somewhere to post.

Connect

Add a custom connector

In Muse, open Add custom connector, or ask Muse in a chat to add a custom connector for UniFeeds. Muse opens a form in its Secure Credentials Store.

Enter UniFeeds' address

Paste this URL as the host or server address.

Host
https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcp

Enter the client ID

Enter muse as the client ID, all lowercase. Leave the client secret empty.

Client ID
muse

Sign in to UniFeeds

Muse opens UniFeeds. Sign in, pick your workspace, and click Allow.

Other ways to set it up

Muse Code

Meta's coding agent for the terminal. It signs in with UniFeeds, so you don't need a key.

Add UniFeeds to your settings

Add this to ~/.config/muse/settings.json. Keep "schema_version": 1, or Muse Code won't start.

~/.config/muse/settings.json
{
  "schema_version": 1,
  "mcp_servers": {
    "unifeeds": {
      "transport": "streamable_http",
      "url": "https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcp",
      "enabled": true,
      "mode": "optional"
    }
  }
}

Sign in

Run this, and your browser opens UniFeeds. Pick your workspace and click Allow.

Terminal
muse mcp login unifeeds

Check it's connected

Start muse and type /mcp. UniFeeds and its tools should be listed.

Check it works

Start a new chat and ask:

Prompt
Use the UniFeeds whoami tool and tell me which workspace you're connected to and whether you can make changes.

Muse should name your UniFeeds workspace and say whether it can make changes. If it picked the wrong workspace or can only read, reconnect and choose again. With an API key, use a read and write key made in the right workspace.

Manage the connection

Remove the UniFeeds connector in Muse, or ask Muse to remove it. In Muse Code, run the command below to sign out.

Terminal
muse mcp logout unifeeds

To cut the app off from UniFeeds' side, open Connected apps on the API keys page and select Disconnect. Workspace members can disconnect their own apps; admins can disconnect any. If Muse uses a key, delete the key there instead.

Use an API key instead

If signing in doesn't work for you, Muse can send a read-only API key instead. Keep the key in Muse's Secure Credentials Store, never in the chat.

Troubleshooting

Muse asks for an API key or a client secret

Use the sign-in settings instead: the client ID is muse and the secret stays empty. To use a key anyway, follow Use an API key instead.

Muse asks for the key in the chat

Don't paste it there. Ask Muse to ask for the key in its Secure Credentials Store instead.

UniFeeds says it doesn't know the app

Check the client ID is exactly muse, all lowercase, and the address matches the URL above.

Muse tries to install something

Muse runs on its own computer in the cloud, so install commands don't change your device. Add UniFeeds with the custom connector form instead.

Muse Code says your settings are malformed

Add "schema_version": 1 at the top of ~/.config/muse/settings.json.

Muse Code asks you to sign in

Run muse mcp login unifeeds. Muse Code picks up the sign-in without a restart.

Sign-in and workspace problems that happen in every app are on the Troubleshooting page. Still stuck? Email support@unifeeds.io.
