UniFeedsDocs

Connect Claude Code

Add UniFeeds with one command, then sign in from your browser.

Using Claude in a browser or the desktop app? Follow the Claude guide instead. Open the Claude guide

Before you start

  • Claude Code installed and signed in with a Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise plan, or a Claude Console account. The Free plan doesn't include Claude Code.
  • A browser on the same computer for the sign-in. Over SSH, see the troubleshooting tips.
  • At least one social account connected on the Connections page in UniFeeds, so the AI has somewhere to post.

Connect

Add UniFeeds

Run this in a terminal. --scope user makes UniFeeds available in every project.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user unifeeds https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcp

Sign in

Start Claude Code. It tells you unifeeds needs sign-in. Type /mcp, select unifeeds, and sign in. Your browser opens UniFeeds: pick your workspace and click Allow. Outside Claude Code, claude mcp login unifeeds does the same.

Check it's saved

unifeeds should show as connected.

Terminal
claude mcp list

Other ways to set it up

Share it with a project

Add UniFeeds to the project's .mcp.json instead. Claude Code asks each person to approve it once, and everyone signs in with their own UniFeeds account.

Add this to .mcp.json

.mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "unifeeds": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Check it works

Start a new session and ask:

Prompt
Use the UniFeeds whoami tool and tell me which workspace you're connected to and whether you can make changes.

Claude Code should name your UniFeeds workspace and say whether it can make changes. If it picked the wrong workspace or can only read, reconnect and choose again. With an API key, use a read and write key made in the right workspace.

Manage the connection

Sign out of UniFeeds, or remove it from Claude Code.

Terminal
claude mcp logout unifeeds
claude mcp remove unifeeds

To cut the app off from UniFeeds' side, open Connected apps on the API keys page and select Disconnect. Workspace members can disconnect their own apps; admins can disconnect any.

Use an API key instead

For CI and other runs where nobody is there to sign in.

Troubleshooting

The browser didn't open

Run claude mcp login unifeeds --no-browser and open the printed link yourself. If the page doesn't load after you click Allow, paste its full address back into Claude Code.

unifeeds shows Needs authentication

Type /mcp, select unifeeds, and sign in, or run claude mcp login unifeeds.

It says the server has a "url" but no "type"

Add "type": "http" to the unifeeds entry in .mcp.json.

Tools fail because they need more permissions

Any workspace member can connect an AI app to read, but only workspace admins can let it make changes. If you're an admin, sign in again and tick the option to create, schedule, publish and delete posts. Using an API key? Ask an admin for a read and write key.

Sign-in and workspace problems that happen in every app are on the Troubleshooting page. Still stuck? Email support@unifeeds.io.
