Connect Codex
Add UniFeeds once for the Codex CLI, IDE extension, and ChatGPT desktop app, then sign in.
Before you start
- Codex signed in with a ChatGPT plan or an OpenAI API key.
- The Codex CLI, the IDE extension, and the ChatGPT desktop app share one settings file, so you set this up once.
- Codex tasks in the cloud don't use this setup.
- At least one social account connected on the Connections page in UniFeeds, so the AI has somewhere to post.
Connect
Add UniFeeds
Run this in a terminal. Codex finds UniFeeds' sign-in and opens your browser.
codex mcp add unifeeds --url https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcpSign in
Sign in to UniFeeds, pick your workspace, and click Allow. If the browser didn't open, or you need to sign in again later, run codex mcp login unifeeds.
Check it's saved
unifeeds should be in the list. Inside Codex, /mcp shows its tools.
codex mcp listOther ways to set it up
In the IDE extension or ChatGPT desktop app
Add a server
Open MCP servers from the gear menu in the IDE extension, or from Settings in the ChatGPT desktop app, and select Add server.
Enter UniFeeds' details
Choose Streamable HTTP, name it unifeeds, paste this URL, and save. Leave the bearer token empty.
https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcpRestart and sign in
Restart when asked, then select Authenticate next to unifeeds.
Edit config.toml yourself
Add this to ~/.codex/config.toml
Then run codex mcp login unifeeds.
[mcp_servers.unifeeds]
url = "https://mcp.unifeeds.io/mcp"Check it works
Start a new session and ask:
Use the UniFeeds whoami tool and tell me which workspace you're connected to and whether you can make changes.Codex should name your UniFeeds workspace and say whether it can make changes. If it picked the wrong workspace or can only read, reconnect and choose again. With an API key, use a read and write key made in the right workspace.
Manage the connection
Sign out of UniFeeds, or remove it from Codex.
codex mcp logout unifeeds
codex mcp remove unifeedsTo cut the app off from UniFeeds' side, open Connected apps on the API keys page and select Disconnect. Workspace members can disconnect their own apps; admins can disconnect any.
Use an API key instead
For CI and other runs where nobody is there to sign in.
Troubleshooting
Run codex mcp login unifeeds --no-browser and open the printed link yourself.
UniFeeds is already saved. Run codex mcp login unifeeds to sign in again.
Add mcp_oauth_credentials_store = "file" at the top of ~/.codex/config.toml, then run codex mcp login unifeeds again.
Restart it. It reads the same ~/.codex/config.toml as the CLI.
Any workspace member can connect an AI app to read, but only workspace admins can let it make changes. If you're an admin, sign in again and tick the option to create, schedule, publish and delete posts. Using an API key? Ask an admin for a read and write key.
Sign-in and workspace problems that happen in every app are on the Troubleshooting page. Still stuck? Email support@unifeeds.io.
